Does anyone know the best way to remove the black anodizing from a Thomson post without resorting to sand paper or other such means which would likely reduce its diameter and degrade the exciting ribbedness!!??

is it worth the hassle? thomson posts sell easily for good money so why not sell yours and buy a silver one. think i got my silver post from CRC fro about £60 as they were having a blow out

Don't do it! sell it and then buy get a silver one. It'll be worthless if you sand it

What size is it? 27.0??? :D

Thanks for the advice. I would buy a silver one out of preference but Thomson only make 27.0 and 29.4 (the ones I have / need) in black.

Someone else has also suggested oven cleaner?

Cheers, Matt

Drain cleaner & a Brillo pad + light rubbing ;)
Yeah, something with Caustic soda in it
Watch as its nasty stuff, a couple of minutes in it then rinse
Repeat you have the until desired finish
Done it a few times

leave in the Utah sun for a few years ;)
