Shimano External BB Compatibility

Are the HTII external BB interchangeable? Is it just the quality of the bearings/sealing that is different?

I'm sure this has already been discussed but I can't find anything.

Do you mean model like deore/xtr etc.?

Will a deore BB fit my XTR cranks?

I've just looked on Sheldon Brown's website and it says that they will, just wondering if anyone has any practical experience.

Yep, just fine. As long as the hole is 24mm (gusset, raceface, hope, shimano and a few others), your fine.

Yup they are. I've always used the Saint ones and they've always been pretty good.
