I've recently bought an early model avid mechanical disc brake. How can I work out what rotor size it needs? I know some rotors are 160, others are 163 or 165... Have all avid disc brakes always been the same size (and what size)? Do I just need to try various sizes and see which one works best? Is it possible to use a slightly smaller rotor than the original size (160 instead of 163, for example)?
