unsure how to set them up.
both the steerer crowns move up and down, but the stanchions seem to move aswell which means they need aligning properly before tightening up...should i have only done one at a time?!?!
or is there a way of putting them back together making sure they are aligned correctly...never done this before and probably should have waited till i chatted about i ton here first!

its these forks:

Hi take the top crown off, slide the steerer tube up the head tube with botton bearings/grease in place..............slide your headset bearings and cover on top, slide the top crown loosly on..........use h/set spacers to get correct height for your stem to go on, leaving 5mm inside the stem, put top-cap on and tighten up gently to take slack up as normal.

Measure both fork tubes below the lower crown and loosen bolt off a bit and tap with wood/rubber mallet till their both equal.........youmay wish to pull down of the fork brace 1st to make sure the fork is extended.

Hopfully if you do that the top crown should be equal then tighten those after checking preload of headset again.

You can obviouly slide the stantion above the top crown to get the desired ride height/angle........BUT check fork makersmanual online to see how much you can drop it........in case of internal butting etc/weaker points on fork that may not take clamping forces, but should be ok.
