Best tyres for south downs way?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend tyres for the SDW, I was thinking a easy rolling tyre due to the distance. Would anyone go skinny and use touring tyres or keep the size 2.?. I am waiting for the weather to improve so presume it will not be muddy.

Interested in your thoughts, not got loads of money and would like to keep the cost down.

Thanks

If you can find some, WTB All Terrain-asaurus...

...really do work well in most conditions (can't say 'all...' because I haven't) and very fast rolling for the smooth bits

Given the local weather at the moment I'd suggest something like this.

LOL Really muddy last weekend, couldn't ride, push or carry bike at one point.

One shout for the fat tyres.

last time I was there I was on the stock IRC Mythos that came with my then new Cannondale.. I remember it being chalky and flinty.

Same for me. Bloody nightmare. I'd run quite low pressures like 30psi
