Just removed the outer ring on my tripple chainset and put on a bash ring i am using the bottom two gears on the shifter and just reset the higher mech stop to stop it going over the bash ring. Two things do i shorten my chain to help with tension and do i lower my front mech down and reset the lower adjuster to stop it going over the granny ring

Shouldnt need to move the mech unless its catching on bash.
If it still shifts fine just limit it.
Dont see a problem with taking out a link or 2 in chain.

Thanks everything works ok just wondered if i needed to move the mech down have altered the stops but not ridden it properly so might leave the chain for now but take out a few links if i have any problems with the chain coming off

If you have ditched a 44t outer & middle ring is 32t, then you might need to remove about 6 links (half of the difference between 44 & 32).

Best method is to set the chain on big cassette to big (old middle) chainring including THROUGH the rear mech & shorten chain so that rear mech is tight but still creates an S shape in the chain as it passes through the jockeys.
