Recommendations needed- Cycle stand for indoors

Hello all, I am after any recommendations on stands to go in my living room. I currently have one of these in an alcove in the hallway, and its functional but looks a little too industrial.

I am now after a second stand to put two bikes up in the lounge (My RC500 and my RC200

I am looking at the following stands floor to ceiling stands.

Cheap, cheerful, not too intrusive but may struggle supporting the RC500 off the ground (could keep its wheels on the floor!)

Looks better made, better quality finish (after all its in the lounge) and shouldn't struggle with the RC500's weight.

The Oak is more homely and will blend into the living room without making it look like an office bike rack. But you lose some adjust ability in the arms. Weight wise it should hold the bikes fine.

Price wise none of these are out of budget, however it is worth considering I could possibly buy 2 of the £38 ones and replace the one in the hallway too. (could also buy 1 of each of the rose ones for the same price as the gear up.)

Has any one used any of these, or has any one got any other recommendations?

I think these are pretty smart.... saw them in this months CTC mag "cycle"

yup seen those at cafes, problem being in the middle of London, like everyone else under 75 and without trust fund, we rent and the landlord wouldn't allow permanent fixings to the wall.

Also I am not sure the RC500 frame could be manipulated into it, least not at a presentable angle.

I absolutely love the Pro bike stand. I have 3 of them for my bikes.



The only tricky bit is the discs on my modern, which means I can use the stand only on the right-hand side of the front wheel. It can squeeze in between the disc and chainstay, but I really don't want to run the risk of hitting/bending the disc.
For bikes with canti/V/drum brakes you can put it anywhere but the drive side of the rear wheel.

What about sticking with the stand you've already got and 'camouflaging' it by painting if the same colour as the wall its up against?

Oh this is not an instead of the existing it is an as well as. I have many bikes.

I am really after either a free standing or a floor to ceiling rack to fit the space I have. (photo to follow.)

yeah thats what I meant but just tailor it so it blends in by modding it

A 2.4 m length of planed 2x4 and some bits of wood/metal hardware will achieve the same for 1/10th the price. You can make it as fancy or as simple as you like and paint/varnish it to match the room and fittings.

It may not be as adjustable but that doesn't matter until you sell your bikes, and let's face it we don't hence why we have these storage problems! :?

Why not get a couple of workshop stands? Some where store the bikes and work on them at the same time.
