at close to freezing temps I've had king freehubs slip on me. replaced the grease with oil & was never a problem again

J can't see any problem with using oil in freehubs except that you might have to do it more often than if you use grease.

King lube for normal use, king lube/ tri flow mix for winter which makes it a bit louder :lol: 8)

I usually oil my hopes for summer and use Muc-off ceramic wet lube for winter to keep things free and nice, had a king on a trial bike once so fitted a steel spring instead of the stock alloy one.
