looking at some new xtr disc brakes, just need to know if a rear caliper will work on the front??
says the front caliper is is standard to run 140mm on forks and the rear is is standard to run 160mm on the rear

Dont see why not, i havent seen any calipers that are front or rear specific. Im sure they exist but not that i have seen and i dont think in this case.

My mate bought some elixir's, a front and rear.

The only difference was rotor size and mounting hardware included.

A brake that is designated for use on the back will need a 20mm bigger rotor when fitted to the front.

Yeah,really dont want them with a small on the front

Not unless you enjoy sudden rear wheel washout on cornering :wink:

yeah will be running 180 up front with adapter and 160 rear with adapter just wasnt sure if the rear caliper was different to the front. I didnt think it would be but you never know lol

Its not them ones, its the m975 ones mate

have to admit my slx m666 which are similar design to the m888 by the look of it aint as good imo as the m665 ive got

much prefer shimano but its each to their own lol
i stick with em coz i have never had a problem with them so why change
