Any idea what make this bike/frame is?

Hi - came across this board when searching for info on a bike i've recently bought and i'm trying to find out the make and if possible model.

I believe the bike is from around 1998 ish? The frame has been sprayed and the serial number is LY70505658. Any ideas?

I would guess 1994-96 as it has a rear canti hanger. By 1998 v-brakes had taken over.

It looks like aluminium and LY stands for made by Liyang Bikes in Taipei, which seems to be a mass manufacturer making bikes for brands like Claud Butler etc.
