It'd be worth putting helicoper / bike tape on the crank arms where your foot rubs to protect the paint. Only cost you a couple of quid too.

The frame and fork will not see the same sort of wear.
My concern about the paint is really confined to the cranks, heal rub will see it worn through in a very short time and any chips will have a good chance of spreading (although the etching primer *should* see that doesn't happen).

Ok JeRkY.... will be putting some helicopter tape on, I know where you are coming from even shoes will wear on the cranks.
