What frame to buy?

Hey guys,

I am looking to build a MTB, I am going to be using it for fitness during the week and a few tracks here and there on the weekend.

Now I am tall gentlemen at 194cm, so was looking at 29er vs standard size, and would not mind a frame that can be SS and geared.

So far thinking of a PACE of CRC or going for a ON ONE, trying not to break the bike on the build. In Australia by the way.

Pace over on one every single time. Both made in the far east but the Pace manages to maintain a little of its past dignity.

At 194cm tall I'd say go 29er, every time. There's something special to a well executed rigid steel Singlespeed 29er, where the whole is more than the sum of the parts

The secret is out though, most mainstream brands do one now, Haro, Kona, GT, even Trek. So you will be spoilt for choice, Cotic now do a steel 29er as well. Stateside there's a whole raft at any price point: Ritchey, Vassago, Salsa, Gunnar, Soul Cycles, Misfit, Niner, RedLine, Voodoo plus all the custom builders.

Of the 2 you list the Pace to me is nicer, but have a look at the Singular Swift. It comes with a hanger and an EBB, so fits your bill. And it is a great ride that has found a following in the market. Plus Sam is a genuine good guy who supports his product. And the Swift has been around a while now so you may also find one used (as I did).

Enjoy!!

Another recommendation for Singular (and Sam) from me - have a look here at the website and they also have an Australian dealer.
Really nice bikes and great support.
