i tried to take the cranks of a mates bike and all there seems to be holding them on is an 8mm bolt. so i undid that and they are still on, so i thought of using a crank extractor but it is a lot bigger than my extractor. has anyone had this problem and if so how do you get them off? cheers :)

Sounds like its missing the 10mm extractor cap. You can get replacement from crc, they are l/h thread.

I had one RF deus XC crank that had self extracting cap & one that didn't - just used a crank extractor with the right adaptor at the end - by memory i couldn't swap the self extracting cap into the other crank as they were different.

if that makes any sense...?
