Any body use a road stem on a MTB?

Road stems are for 26mm bars compared with mtb bars which are 25.4mm. Other than that no real difference I can see. I'd assume they'd be a bit lighter than the mtb equivalents so wouldn't feel 100% confident using one for any more than light xc use ;)

Unless it is a 31.8 clamp and then it is the same. I would say you would have no issues using a road biased stem on an mtb...possibly unless you re doing hardcore DH stuff.
Edit...and yes I have...Thomson 'road' stem on ss build with wide bars and plently of mashing with no issues

That's good then as bought one.
Thanks for words of wisdom :D

I'm using a Race Face Cadence road stem on my Dave Yates MTB ~ it's fine................................................. so far!
