In the not too distant future i shall be building a Ti SS bike :D
In keeping with the lightweight theme i will be using some carbon and some ti bits.
I will definately be using disc brakes, so will an Avid BB7 cable disc set-up be lighter than a hydraulic set-up(assuming i don't sell a kidney and buy some KCNC ones :D ).
Presumably the Avids will work woth any V brake lever so i could save a few extra grams there?

Be nice to know so i can add to my shopping list

.

Cheers Dave.
BB7 caliper seem to be about 50g's lighter than a Mini caliper.
Discs would be the same.
So which is lighter, V lever and cable or a master cylinder, hose and fluid?
I'll have to get the scales out :D

.

I'm not sure.
Non braided hoses aren't very heavy compared to brake outer and inner.
Its only about 20ml of fluid.
I think it will just be the difference between the levers and master cylinders

A lot more gubbin's in a hydro master cylinder.

I think the aest ones are something like 63g each?

I was looking at the AEST levers the other night, they look ace but reviews seem to inidcate they arent top quality. I am toying with KCNCs or even some nice Paul Love Lever 2.5s instead for my Pug.

Not read reviews on the AEST levers but tintin40 had some.

You can get them on ebay for £50 a set.
