It is fantastic to get an insight into this, something I really appreciate this site for. I wonder if De Kerf would find that kind of information useful too.

Come on, which gauge of 853 tubing (there are loads to choose from)? Standard and not ProTeam ?
and I have to say there is something nice about having a mixed tubing frame, rather than plain vanilla i'll just take all of it.

So Columbus is tagging Reynolds at the rear ?

these don't need gussets or the DZB tubing ?

DZB gracefully pinched from Reynolds website in an attempt to show knowledge.

Loads to choose from also pinched from here, oh and the ProTeam..

My Proteam 853 Pace is tig + brazed.

When I spoke to 18 bikes about an 853 fillt brazed custom frame they suggested doing it as above.

Not sure what I am adding or trying to add

Looking forward to updates.

Looking forward to this 8)

The rear end tubing could be Columbus life?

Enigma make a lovely steel ht out of it and stupidly light it is:

Looking forward to seeing this in the steel when you get it. What paint have you gone for bud?

Hope your recovery is still going ok :)

Recovery is going OK, ta. A few twinges now & again which remind me to slow down a bit, but things look good

Paint.... That's for me to know & you lot to find out later ;)

Speaking of steel, I have the tubing info :)

Reynolds 853 Down tube: 31.75mm outer diameter, butted 0.8/0.5/0.8mm
Reynolds 853 Top tube: 28.6mm outer diameter, butted 0.75/0.45/0.75mm
Reynolds 853 Seat tube 28.6mm outer diameter, butted 0.9/0.6/1.2 bulge (presumably at the top!)
Reynolds 525 Head tube: 32.5mm outer diameter, 1.25mm thick with ring reinforced top & bottom
Reynolds 525 Seat stay: 16mm outer diameter, 0.7mm, double taper
Columbus Zona Oval chainstays

The 853 is standard 853, not Proteam ;)

Okay, I'm here now, you can crack on with it now please :P

Feels slightly wrong to be excited about another man's build, but...
