I a pretty confident the answer is that they will be fine, but I had an eight speed set up with new chainrings, if I want to go and use new 9 speed chain and cassette will it work? Don't think they'd be an issue but thought i'd check before I buy! Don't think chainrings are 8 or 9 speed specific?

Im not 100% on this but id say your chainrings are the standard 3/32 so should fit.

I can get pics in the next day or two if it helps.
I dont see there would be an issue that I am aware of. I guess that ten speed is different but 8 and 9 should be compatible. Don't recall seeing any 8 or 9 speed advertised chainrings.
