I have a Ritchey chainset with 4 bolt fixing. Does anyone know what rings are compatible with it as I would like a good replacement middle ring to use the cranks for a single speed project.

thanks

Sure it's not 5 bolts? So a 5 arm chainset.
Could be Compact or Standard. Would need pics or you to measure either distance between two adjacent holes or a hole to bottom bracket axle (all centre/centre style)

Oh the '5th' arm is behind/is the crank arm.

Else is some modern thing.

Modern 4 bolt, uses standard 104/64 bcd rings

So pete_mcc ... I am basically making a singlespeed 95 Kona and only therefore need the middle ring. What would you say is the best option from the many CR have?

That's modern talk  4-arm's

Get yer sen in the 98+ section.

Grab and nice single speed chainring, should be plenty around as that's an everyday 'of the day' size

Look for none ramped, none profiled rings. Probably come under the SS or Downhill naming
e.g. Hope SS/DH http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=80578
or E13 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=55190

I've got some DMR stuff here and a stash of 4-arm outer and middle I'll have a look through.
But what tooth count are you after ?

Something non-ramped and fairly thick with high teeth. Something like the E13, hope or Renthal. The cheapest good looking one is this:

Not saying you can't use cheaper, it's just that you don't really want to put a triple chainring on as they tend to flex too much and can have ramps, pins and shift gates that let the chain derail too easily. Buy cheap, buy twice!
