Why are pace forks the wrong way round?

Ive always wondered why pace has put the brake posts on the back of their forks and the braces still on the disc only forks compared wit most if not all other manufacturers? Is it just to look different or is there some perormance advantage to this? Ive now got a set of both RC40s and RC36s, must admit they do look cool and Ive yet to ride either properly, loving the pure engineering and carbon of them though!

I am interested also.
Manitou do it aswell.

I personally havent really liked the look but am coming round to it.

Rotational force forces the brake into the rim rather than splaying away when mounted on the front.
:D

I thought it would be something like that, akin to rear mounted v's. All the stress is put right where it should be.

Better clearance between the tyre and the fork whilst getting the brace closer to the fork to gain stiffness due to the curve of the tyre.

if you think about the job a brake booster does, pace use an entire fork to do the same job!

it may have other perks too but from everything i've read it seems it is purely about increasing braking performance

Its not that Pace forks are the wrong way round, its that every other fork is the wrong way round. HTH

The OP is not referring to rim braked forks but to disc only forks.

This is what Manitou state on their website:-

Reverse Arch:-

The iconic Reverse Arch design instantly identifies a Manitou fork. By placing the arch behind the crown, we can make it shorter and stiffer than if it were in front of the crown. This simple, elegant form provides the greatest amount of torsional stiffness possible for a given weight. Each casting has an optimized arch size, shape, and cross section for maximum stiffness and dramatically improved steering accuracy.

If so, why did he say 'Ive always wondered why pace has put the brake posts on the back of their forks'?
