OK so my GT is finished but I keep trying to think what it would look like with amber/skinwalls as I have a set of NOS IRC Mythos here. Anyone with any more vision than me care to comment as I'm thinking white frame with skinwalls might look a bit anemic?

once you've had black you never go back.

my take on amberwalls is that they look nice but everytime i've fitted some i then dont ride the bike.

The problem with skinwalls is all the grime and sludge you get on them from the brake pads as they eat away your rims on a gritty winter ride.

As you're considering them on a bike with discs then you've avoided that problem already.

In terms of that particular bike, I think that black walls will probably suit it better anyway. A set of Continental tyres with their orange walls might look okay, put pale skin wall tyres will, as you say, look a bit anaemic.

Try it, photograph it, show us and then decide.

What year is the frame? Looks newer and if so skinwalls were pretty much gone by then so it doesn't make sense to have them on then does it?

It'll not take you too long to switch the tyres around grab a pic and then decide.

Thread resurrection alert !

Now that the 728 is on Panaracers, I had a pair of Schwalbe City Jets (26x1.95) to spare. Decided to put them on my modern, and this is the result.

I'm pretty pleased with the way it looks, but I don't think many moderns can pull this off without looking ridiculous.
