I've decided to buy a new full sus bike and I've always liked the look (and price!) of the Canyon range.
Problem is that I cant decide which one to go for.
I've a budget of around £2500 so have a choice really of these...

I mainly ride terrain that'd be classed as 'cross country' but I do venture to the trail centres of Wales occasionally so want something to cover all bases really.
The one I like the look of most is the bottom one, but I'm concerned that it's too XC biased and I'll regret not going for something with longer travel.
Head saying the Nerve XC or AM but heart being tugged by that lovely carbon frame :?

If you want to hit the trail centres as well, I would pick an AM model with the slightly longer travel.

That said, my mate has a Nerve XC and absolutly loves it! I have seen him do 2-3 foot drops on it with no qualms what so ever. Incidentally, a chap on an AM one rode past me and my mate on his XC and said his AM was great on the trails!

For me, I would go AM. Perfectly happy riding cross country with an ever so slightly firmer set up to balance out the extra bit of travel and quite happy to bounce off drops at a trail centre.

your call at the end of the day though. ;)

(EDIT: he has the Nerve XC 7.0)

I would go for the AM one too as the forks are talas so you can drop the travel if needed on the big climbs. ;)

if you have the intention to race the bike once in a while go for the "MR". if not go for the "AM".
the "AM" is definitely a do-it-all bike. the "MR" will limit you on some trails.

The AM but i am biased towards that sort of bike. Much weight difference? If not then they all have similar setups but one suits your needs more...

I made a mistake there and put the wrong link for the bottom bike (which is the one I liked best  )
The comparative weights are interesting actually.... the carbon Lux MR is almost exactly the same as the Nerve XC, while the Nerve AM is over 2kg heavier.
I'm leaning towards the Nerve XC at the moment as I think it will be the best of both worlds. It's also got the Formula brakes, which I really like

And would you really notice 2kg?

Are you really that xc?

Thats the thing with bikes isnt it, if you go with your heart your head generally disagress and vice versa. Hence, get both!

80% of my riding is on The Purbecks, which always feels like it 100% up-hill!
I think that AM stealth looks the nuts though, and I love those wheels.
I suppose having the heavier, longer travel AM would make me ride my retro bikes more for pure XC :D

If you already have an xc orientated bicycle and not so much a do it all one then the choice should be simple, right? Right?
