Got these in the post today:

http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=180947

Not sure what rim to lace them to. Mavic is an obvious choice, for XC use, nothing huge or needing super strong rims, what would you go for, maybe a daring non-Mavic choice!? Something quite tasty to go with the quality of the hub!

Needs to be black to suit the build.

Thoughts please

Sun-Ringle is a good choice.

I was thinking the same actually, but have no experience of their rims.

Any good?

American classic? Xtr?

Something a bit more boutique - that said i always try to have more unique parts.

a round one?

Joking aside, it's hard to tell without knowing how you're going to build it. Some bikes look better with flat rims, some look better with those deep ones, genre HED and Spinergy.

Like the fact they are as good as Mavic, I rather like some of them.

Budget is about 30-50 per wheel, nothing epic but not too cheap either.

Its a 97 Saracen Kili Comp, so flat rims are what I am after, nothing like HED and I'm not a big fan of spins. Not familiar with the other wheels mentioned by cyfa and chris, but good research fodder :)

Just been looking at these as it goes. DT Swiss are a little pricey, the Stans look quite tidy, but I really have no real experience with other than Mavic on which to base any opinion of these other rims on.

The crc reviews are quite useful though.

Thanks for the recommendations so far, guys 8)
