Rim crisis!! lol

Ok so for my STS I can't decide what rims to use.
At the mo I'm torn between Silver Mavic 317's or RED 517's
Black, silver and red is the running theme. (Imagine a DHO fork on the front, it's not shown below)

Needs to be something that would look ok with discs or V's.
The brake crisis is yet to come!

Also, the 317s are disc-specific rims. So if you're planning on using cantis or vees, you only have the 517s to choose from.

You only have one choice, disc rims would look and work terrible with V-brakes.

But silver spokes and nipples for me, not them tacky black things.

Oops, rookie error. Ok, silver 517's are available. Scrap the disc only 317.
I was just thinking red rims with a red fork might be a bit much?

Hadn't noticed the mention of the fork, I would either go Silver fork or use the Silver rims, if you dare, some red nipple detailing

Silver fork isn't an option so it'll have to be silver rims.

Anyone know what years the 517 was around? The more I think, the more I think they're a bit new for a 1998 build. :/

The 317's above are i think from around 2003?

But now you will have a silver rim on silver rear end?

A valid argument I guess, but then a polished frame with silver wheels looks ok as long as there are other colourful bits about. My coyote is a good example with a blue stem, seat and crank.
I like the red nipple idea. Thought of that aswell.
