I'm guessing a few folks will have been running these for a while now. How are they holding up? Also I see the lumen count is up and whilst I appreciate that the accuracy of such claims are ropey has anyone bought some of the new ones? This is the type I'm talking about.

it's ok as a commuter 'be seen' light, but wouldn't use it for night riding.

been running 3 of these , 2 on the bike and one on me hat

do a good job , reasonable for off road stuff imo

but moved on to the 900 lumen ones now

still prefer a halogen light tho , just the burn time issue thats a pain
on them , that and the hoooj battery

Indeed, cannot beat the 900 and 1000+ lumen LED's for sheer power to turn night into day. But in my experience textures and subtle differences are surpressed. It is notably difficult to "see" the best line in a melee of sand-hardpack-mud-ruts-gloop on a moist trail. The path is brighly lit but loses a bit of what I would call "definition".

Halogen is much less bright but punches beyond it's weight in giving feedback about the trail. But I'm now spoiled by the sheer power of LED's, there is no going back for me.

Improvements in this "definition" feature is one area where the A-list LEDs could persuade me to spend more than the 30odd quid the Chinese ones fetch.

I've got a couple of these £30, 160 lumen lamps from HK. Cant fault them.Almost to the point that it doesn't matter if they only last one winter,cause next year I expect we'll get 2000+ lumen for £20.
So much so, that I'm going to sell my Hope 1's

As for the cheapo LED light,s I've got three. All for the kids bikes.And they loved them, until they saw the 1600 lumen ones. Yes, they are OK for being seen,but useless for much else.
