I'm sure this has been covered at some point, but I can't find the answer.
My current rear shock is 180mm i2i 50mm stroke, but finding it difficult to find a replacement.
Can I fit 190mm i2i 50mm and get the same performance.
Sorry for the question a bit new to full suspension and I'm currently building a Giant ATX900 .
Many Thanks
Chris

i would try it, 10mm shouldn't make that much of a difference

my bikes have linkage mods which change the travel with spec shock cant see why changing the shock would be any different

just take the 180mm one out, then move the swingarm back/down until you have 190mm between the holes, check nothing will bang into anything or bottom out.

if all clear then you *can* fit a 190mm shock in, but it will change the geometry and you'd be surprised what 10mm of shock length can do to the handling of a bike
