When I go cycling, when I want a drink, I have a water bottle. However magazines would have me believe many Cyclists that actually have a CamelBak.

Do you cycle round with the tube in your mouth all the time, then suck when you want a drink? Or do you clip the tube to your body, then when you want a drink, stick the tube in your mouth and suck? I don't want one, I think they are a daft expensive idea.

I don't even have a water bottle for my bike let alone a camel pack!

But.. I do see a fair few cyclists (MTBers) with camelpaks.

The tube has a clip to attach to the shoulder strap......just lift it up to your mouth and sook.......less hassle than getting a bottle out of the cage- and indeed, for a lot of full suspension bikes, there isn't a lot of room for a bottle on the frame.

I carry a water bottle in my cycling tops back pockets. I found it was a nightmare trying to drink while cycling like a camel back.

Plus my roadie tops 3 back pockets hold every thing i need

Water Bottle & spare 1 Litre fizzy drink bottle in rucks

Ok. I can see why a CamelBak appeals to people riding longer then a normal sized water bottle will last them.

Well here is a great tip, this is what I do, in my rucksack I bring 1 Litre fizzy drink bottle (1 bottle, or 2 bottles, depending if HOT DAY or LONG RIDE), so when I empty my bike water bottle I fill it up with the 1 Litre bottle that I brought with me in my rucksack.

It suits me, and it's cheaper then a CamelBak, or replica.

To be contrary I have both on longer rides (which is most of them).

High 5 4:1 Energy drink in the bottle. Water in the CB.

Short rides just the bottle.

2 bottles on the road bike.

TBH if you're already carrying a rucksack with your drink in it, you may as well save the aggravation and put a bladder in your rucksack instead.

Personally I think you're in denial and secretly want us to talk you into buying one :)
