what bike can i buy, keep it un-used in the loft, then bring it down in 15years time and sell it for twice as much as i brought it for :)

Thats a real tough one, mtb is far reaching now so the amount of special bikes is ever decreasing.

Ex team bike... get an ex team bike that some up and comer rode, fingers crossed they will be the next big thing. If they do become the next big thing and you have their original race bike...?

Although again as already said, this might only be good for older bikes.

If i see an ex team biek for sale i normally avoid it unless its by a rider with finnesse or such. Team bikes often get beat up bad.
