Chain is a chain right?

I didnt know they were road chains and hence have seen them on a couple mtb's

Had a red one, the coating comes of quicker than id hope
(not ultra fast but doesnt last too long :? )

why do you say that? I would have thought that it was other way round since mountain bikes have much smaller gears - 39/23 vs 22/32.

Well the amount of miles done on a road bike at full chat compaired to a dh bike which is pushed or carried uphill to be mostly freewheeled down a big hill kinda says it all really ;)
 
The question is though does a road bike application result in more or less tension on the chain than an mtb application? :LOL: :p :roll: :facepalm:
