Shimano Saint rear mech...

I've been reading that the Saint rear mechs can only run double chain sets...
Is this true and how come? I'm thinking about swapping the rear mech for a Saint as they're much stronger springs, running a 11-32 cassette with 42,32,22 chainrings... Will it really not work?

Saint comes in a long and short cage option

I see no reason why you cannot run a saint long cage on a triple set up

The shorter cage version would struggle in some combo's having a lower capacity then the longer version

btw. i'm very happy with the saint rear mech on my stereo. but need to admit i purely bought it for cosmetic reason...
