XT freehub query?

Received a bike with what look like new wheels, with XT disc hubs. Rear freehub sounds terrible, dry, grindy - if you freewheel it with the wheel off the ground, the cassette kind of moves about/floats. I'm guessing it was jet-washed to death.

Would be better/cheaper to just shove a good one in there or get it serviced?

I would shove some fresh grease in first and try that........cheap fix that will cure for a few hrs or for life.............if it grinds after a couple of hrs riding then go for the new hub, make sure all the cones are tightend up too ;)
