Whilst my 'Hardcore hardtail' project is on stop due to steerer issues i thought i'd get a few more of the finishing bits together.
So can anyone recommend a good allround tyre?
I'm thinking something around 2.3"?
Have look at the build in the 98> bikes section and let me know what you think would be appropriate ;)
Ta.

Can't go wrong with a Kenda Blue Groove/Nevegal combo. I ride them all year round on all surfaces. They're great!

2.35 maxxis highrollers are quite good or if you can find them , tioga 2.5 whitetigers

panaracer fire xc in a 2.1 run them at 30 - 35lb and they grip like hell, I wont use any other tyre nowadays

I'm running a pair of Nobby Nic Evo Snakeskin (from Merlin) at 2.25" might not be as wide as you want, but they do do wider tyres.
Look at On-One for Shwalbe tyres to get them cheap at the moment.

Been good in the wet, mud and currently in todays weathers. Can't fault them.

As an all rounder they seem damn fine, quite light (Evo Snakeskins at 2.25" in at 570g iirc). Not sluggish on the road either
I thin kthe Tripple Nano of this years are lighter, or scrap the snakeskin (sidewall reinforcement) for even lighter.
