What have you got that you have built from spare parts...

This is a total mishmash of crap I had lying around in my shed..

Just waiting for a rear cassette to turn up (£5 delivered) and I'm away

Intending to be a 1X9 setup and using an old front mech as a chainguide!!

Its a Gary Fisher Marlin 2008 frame

Bomber Z1 Bam's

Deore rear mech

Deore Lx front v brake

Tektro rear Disc brake

Sun Rhyno lite rear wheel

Weinmann front wheel

IRC Mythos XC semi slick tyres

Titec X wing seatpost

Just going to use it for the work run and the occasional pub trip

£70 so far.

Soon to go up to £100 when it gets some much needed tyres.

I'm pretty chuffed with it :)

This so far has cost me £2

Parts bin specials are cool if the parts don't owe you anything.

Here's my breakdown.

This Kona cost me £10 as seen here:

Image

I removed some parts and replaced some.

I've added DX F&R mechs, and XT Canti's that owe me nothing. They came on a part bike that cost £40, I later sold F&F for £40. (I gave away MO95 XT 3x7 brifters, now I wish I hadn't).

I've added the DMR V8's that's came on a bike that cost me £12 I later sold random parts for £20, and I still have the frame.

The Kona just needs some 3x7 shifters. I haven't even replaced tyres (original Kona) or cables. The frame is a little small 16" (18" ctt) but for next to nowt I can life with that. I may also swap the crankset as the parts I've added are a bit more upmarket than Alivio.
