what are you lot using for single speed biking thesedays?

past single speeds have been a mix match of parts, building a more specific one now however and was wondering what parts you guys are using.

i still need a front ring to match with the 16 rear probaly a 32 maybe a 34.

current parts:

BMX chain
white industries ENO hub
white industries 16 tooth rear freewheel cog
stronglight chainring bolts

this is the crank im using....so fancy something nice to go on it..........

what 32ring will fit? cant find any with the right bcd

i reckon a ring to fit that will be a rare find :?

im new to ss, trying it very soon. probably next week, on my kona cowan ds
will be running 36t ring, not sure on cog yet, probably about 18 but its debateable
not sure what else :?
will see how it goes
will probably keep my dark cycles bash on there (trouser guard/normal bolts  )
token chainring bolts
cog will be from a cassette
-not sure what chain is, but half link

from what i have looked at i might be able to stick a 34mm on it.....i measure it to be 64mm c-c.....

Always surprises me the ratios people run on their single speeds. My only bike is a SS, i ride in flat Norfolk, do alright in races on it, yet i run a 32-17. If your going to ride this predominantly offroad, go for an easier gear then you think.

if the bcd fits it should be fine, as long as you measured/converted right

i normally ride the streets but some off road, my current cassette is 12-23, was using 11-25 before that :?
always been 36 since i kept pedalling out on 32

Love SS'ing. Run a classis 2:1 setup - Surly Steel 32T chainring - On-One Groove Armarda cromo 16T cog - KMC Z1 SS specific chain - RPM El Toro cranks (biggest strongest heaviest ones I could find) - FSA taper BB
