I'm at a bit of a quandry...

I managed to blag a free frame.. a Viking Ally one that's nice and light, but it had nothing on it. I was going to use all the odd bits of components I had lying around, but nothing fits (They're all cheap and nasty bits). SOrted a cheap headset, but now looking for a set of forks, and here's the thoughts...

Do I go rigid and keep the whole thing really light, or do I chuck some bouncy-bouncy one on to save my poor old wrists?

As ever the budget is approximately Zilch ;-)

ideas.......

Need more info! Budget, intended riding, frame spec relating to suspension.

Budget is, essentially, zero LOL

Riding will be very tame, these old bones couldn't take anything too extreme. Mostly with the family on cycle tracks etc.

Don't have any measurements to hand other that it's a 20" Frame 1 1/8" Head tube. I'll take some detailed measurements in the next couple of days when I get a chance to get it out of the loft.

Tricky budget to work with :) FWIW you can pick up cheap suspension forks, you can sometimes grab a set of manitous for £20ish. Sure rigid and big tyres will work but factor in wide rims to stop the blancmange feeling and the costs go up! Soo set of branded but cheap sussers 2.1 tyres and regular wheels is todays opinion!
