I'm looking to invest in some bicycle wire / cable cutters. Should I go for the £30 park tool ones or can you recommend others of the same / better quality of another brand for cheaper?

Thank you.

I've just been in the same situation as you! The guy at the LBS said that there was a better value selection at the B&Q across the road from them. So, I ended up buying the JCB extra leverage wire cutters from there. Cuts cleanly through all my cable and outers when I re cabled my bike. £15 saved too

i bought the park ones and they are rubbish
best with a good set of sparky's pliers
the ones with the blades in the hinge ,as this cuts inner cable
the best , and use the blade in the jaws for outer
prolly as suggested above

I use these

Icetoolz Cable cutters. They also have a spoke cutter, cable end crimper and a cable outer reconditioner. Top-tastic tool.

Not impressed with Park either.

I took the 5-year old Pro cutter from my home workshop to use in my shop workshop as it's been so reliable.

Best one I ever used was an old Suntour one, as it was better at getting into corners. But no point looking for one of those.

I bought some Jagwire one's a few years back and they've been brilliant. £20 ish i think.
