Hi all.
Back toward the end of last summer I bought a Crank Bros Opium c headset. I was amazed with how light and low profile it was and thought the overall look was really cool. I performed fine since being installed and I have had no problems with it apart from one thing:
RUST!
How annoying is that?! The bike has been a a couple of wet rides and has been stored in a dry garage. I find it shocking that Crank Bros let out a product that wasnt properly protected agaist rust. They also do a stainless version but I dont know if that finnish will be any more rust proof than the black finnish.
I emailed tham but they cant help me as I got the headset (new) through eBay.
So Im thinking a possible soloution might be to have the cup's powder coated to protect them once the initial rust is removed. Would this work?
