 Post subject: intergrated headset

fitting some forks on my mates bike n its got an intergrated h/s. What bits should there be, i have the crown, bottom bearing, bottom cup, top cup, top bearing, plastic seal? And then what i presume to be the upper race but its very loose on the steerer? Forks are defo 1 1/8

Have you pre loaded it by tightening the bolt on the top cap?

Don't know if we're talking about the same type of headset, but a Campag spec integrated headset should have:

Crown race
Bottom bearing
Top bearing
Top wedge/race thing (don't know the term for this, it's a sort of tapered wedge that looks like a race with a gap cut in it)
Top cap

yeah all them present but upper race aint got a slit in it it like normal plus its very loose where as there quite flush. Think ive sorted it now, found another upper race that feels like its worked

they are both made in taiwan, i reckon on the same machines! (unconfirmed though), or maybe they are brothers!
