thought i would post here too

Baffling my head this one
Got an XT front mech off here for my LTS3000, its a dual pull one. Fitted it to the bike and the chain is rubbing on the mech when on the bottom cog, fine when on top. That was with the clamp as far down as possible.
So took it off and put the original stx one back on and its doing the oposite, its fine on the bottom but on the top the chain is rubbing on the cage(inside left if looking towards back of bike if that makes sense). I have completly removed the screw so the mech is at its limit.
Cant figure it out for the life ofme

Please help

Have you checked the rotation of the mech? May rub because cage is at a slight angle to the chain.

And probably telling grandad to suck eggs but if the limit screw is set correctly it may be cable tension. Try pulling the cable to make the mech move by hand to see if it pulls the cage over far enough to clear the chain.

Front mechs can be a pain!
