is the frame for a '99 fire mountain the same as the lava dome?
they are both butted cromoly,so is it a case that the lava dome was just a better specced version of the fire mountain?
thanks in advance

I don't think so. I believe the Lava dome was the same frame as the Cindercone, and the Fire mountain the same as the Hahanna.
Could be wrong though...

cinder cone - aluminium
fire mountain - butted cro moly
hahanna - doesn't say

lm my '99 catalogue on the back page it says the Lavadome is double butted whilst the fire mountain just says butted.

Historically the lavadome was always a higher quality frame than the firemountain and hahhana, there are cromo frames and there are cromo frames...
