Anyone know of a good brand or makerwho makes modern steel forks for mtb and Road ( as in racers).......thought Condor might.i see that Surly do....Salsa do both ?

They are made in the style of the old Fat forks, but w/ more modern metals. Chris will do any type of steerer tube as well.
