What would I be looking for as a period correct Freeride fork from this era...

Was thinking maybe Xverts or always heard Psylos were pretty solid for this type of duty.....to be fair, it will more be for fun than serious work..so won't necessarily need 20mm axles or Tulio etc...

Suggestions would be welcomed....

Hmmm..should have included Z1s..whats the best model/variant ?

yes psylos came on the 01 patriot (close)
 compared to these days its considered an xc fork! forkin hell!

what about shivers? you do also have the re-build ability of the z1s (not sure on best model)

but then i guess most forks are re buildable to an extent

I did have some Shivers, but I think those type fork are a little overkill for my build. Found something a little different ( not Orange ) that will make a good fun bike.

So got my eye on some Z1s,and will keep an eye out for some Psylos.

Oh why did I sell the pair I took of my Wifes bike on Ebay for a pittance...

A little yes ! There is some on Ebay, but not really the colour I want..so
really would like some green or blue Z1s...

Even sent a message to member Pete on here, then noticed the post was 2009...doh !

They were perfect as well...sigh !

Will post up a want methinks.

Junior t's are still good forks even today, with 5 inches travel.
Z1's are also excellent although they are flexy compared to the Junior. External damping adjustment is a blessing though

I've also got some 1999ish Manitou Xvert Ti's which are still very good.

They have carbon fibre lower legs and titanium crowns (I think) They are very light! They still look classy and expensive.

I have always been a marzocchi man myself.
