Hi all

Just a quick lowdown on my new project.

Basically I thought I had enough on the go when one day last week JeRkY dropped me a pm with a link to an eBay auction... Clicked the linky and there it was a shot at my dream bike - which can be illustrated by my wall paper below -

Anyway, this coincided with a bad dose of man flu, so I spent most of the back end of last week constantly checking the auction to see if anyone had bid and hallucinating about buying it!

I'd decided that it was a stretch to pay the sellers opening bid, but that if it ran out with no bids, I'd be all over it like a cheap suit!

Well the auction got to the business end with still no bids and I agonisingly watched the last few minutes run down until the screen informed me that the auction was over with no bids! Phewww....

To quote Charlie Duke (Apollo 11 Capcom) to Neil Armstrong after the Eagle had landed "You've got a load of blokes down here about to turn blue..."

I had had my own one small step for retrobiking moment...

I then sprang into action. Emailed the seller with an offer 20% below bid which was accepted!

Collected it last night and is in really good order -

Will post better pics at the weekend.

First job will be to strip it and start cleaning. It's not filthy, I just want it to look it's best...

Next up... I will have fun speccing the build, this is where you guys come in. I don't just want to do a Rob clone... (lovely as his is :D :D ). Anything considered, but ideally period parts...

I have commented that ice ages come and go faster than the completion of my projects (usual funds slows me...) but look back periodically and you might see progress. :D

I am glad you got it and look forwards to the development (albeit at glacial rates) of the project.

As I have said, if you need any info I am probably a good start. Once complete we shall have to get the 2 of em together!

Welcome to the club!

Very nice. I had this on my watch list just to drool over and see what it would go for. Couldn't believe there were no bids at the end :?

Glad to see it turning up here and looking forward to the build. Congrats :)

Very nice indeed. I have to say I was tentatively watching it debating to buy it. Common sense dictated that I already have a RC100 and RC200 in bits, so a third one in the stable is not allowed until the others are complete.

I look forward to progress reports.

You're not doing it right, there's always room for more pace!
