Pic would be nice but I’d always be tempted to polish up the frame if the lacquer has started to yellow and craze.
Check out my orange aluminium elite and the earlier pics compared to the finished restoration. I wouldn’t have done it any different now looking back. It’s pretty labour intensive but the end result will be worth it.
You could always get it re lacquered again but I chose not to at present as I won’t be using it in anything other than sunny days....(if they ever return!)...

You can also but 3 inch polishing mops off eBay that you fit in a normal drill and work a treat for finer high polish....
