Shimano XTR CS-m953 vs XTR CS-m952 12:32

Can't find much information at all on the CS-m952 XTR cassette that came out in 1998. Looks like it was only made for a year and then replaced by the m953. Both 9 Speed cassettes, could someone kindly let me know any difference and why the m952 cassette didn't last the normal product cycle timeline?
 
From what ive seen m952 was launched in 1999 and then in 2000 both the m952 and m953 cassette were available, as were the mech's until 2001. As far as i know they are both the same but they could be a slightly different design for the m953 mech? im not sure. They didnt change the design for the m951 as that used the same as the m950.
