Is it ok to put new parts on a retro project

Lol on the 32.....I agree. Age meant I finally put a 12 - 27t on the back! Still grates on me as it makes it look like a mtb wheel.
 
Just trying to work out how to put photos on - if this works I’ll start to post about the build.
