Why Stratos forks were so crappy?

Hi everybody!
I had this last year many opportunities to buy some Stratos forks (S8, S7 and mx 6), but local friends and some reviews were rating them poorly.
Would be great to read some of your experiences with those forks.

Post not meant to criticize but to get info about stratos forks, because I have couple guys offering me an S7 and a mx 6, so I want to know it all, before making any decision

Bought a set of mx6's in 99 brand new and loved them. Nicely made and felt/functioned really well (better than boxxers at the time)
Think the negative thing now is the availability of spares??
