bikes for kids

My 7 year old daughter has a Ridgeback MX16 but it's starting to get too small for her. Can anyone recommend a slightly larger bike? I like the look of the Islabikes Beinn 20 but I'm not sure she's ready for gears yet.

I'd highly recommend Frog bikes for kids, similar to Isla bikes but available from your local bike shop & lots of colours available

The frogs do have gears but use trigger shifters and 8 spd cassettes so they're easier to use and stronger wheels than most other kids bikes

They are the best kids bikes I've come across in my many years in the trade

Re:

I did a lot of research into this when looking for a bike for my now 7 year old. If I'd not got a bargain on something else, i was going to pull the trigger on a frog bike. They seem really well made and are kitted out nicely. If i had more funds, I'd consider the early rider range, it was cheaper a few years ago but looks really good, belt drive etc. Worth a look if you want to spend more.

My little lad had a frog but is on a modified Kona makena now.
My daughter at 7 was on a specialised Hotrock 20 with some lighter bits and upgraded brakes.
They need to learn gears at some point, a frog or Isla would be great as they're pretty light. If the budget fits (mine didn't/doesn't) the early riders are fantastic!

Ended up getting a Ridgeback MX20 for £80 second hand. I would have prefered it not to have suspension forks but it was a good price. The Kona Makena looks awesome.
