out of interest, what is the remedy?

Will heat or lubrication work in time, even it destroying the shaft?

loads of different solutions some work some dont , google TheSeatPostMan he seems to be good

I had to have the seatpost pulled out of my Cougar with a blow torch. (fnar fnar)

Got it done by a former frame builder so less chance of undoing the lug brazing than if I'd tried.

As regards the Cougar on ebay, thats the second time its sold. I put an offer in for it before Christmas, but it had sold to someone else off ebay.

They must have taken it back because of the seatpost... or may be the "full Campagnolo groupset" (with a bit of Shimano hiding in it)
