I'm almost embarassed to admit that I'm actually from the same town as the importer on the label of that bike...

It looks a lot like the Falcon I'm building up for my wife that I paid a fiver for at a car boot sale (we live in Lincs now) - though I've junked all the crap parts (except the fork and rear shock which, while poor, are at least useable.

I've an XT 9-speed rear mech spare that I'm replacing the horrible steel (Tourney?) thing with and some other bits to make it a better ride on the relatively flat terrain over there.

The forks in the OP are definately not healthy!
