That's an extremely optimistic buy it now price considering it's just a bog standard 12 speed bike built with no-name steel. It's a long way from the 531 framed, Shimano 105 replica version.

I lusted after one of these when I was at school, before anyone had a mountain bike.
Bought one a couple of years ago for a nostalgia trip.
Ever heard the saying "don't meet your heroes"? :oops:

My mate also 'lusted' after anything Raleigh Banana...so he went 'bananas' when he bought his Raleigh Maverick 531ATB, and had 'em paint it it team colours!!

(Personally I prefer the 'classic' TI Raleigh Campagnolo Red, yellow and black myself).
